We will review the California Reading Standards using picture books, short excerpts, and flash fiction. This fast-paced session will provide concrete examples that you can use with your students to help them understand the standards, too, and become more proficient readers.

Jonathan Hunt reads, writes, speaks, and teaches about children's literature. He has served on numerous award committees, including several for picture books, including the Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards and the Caldecott Medal.
