The Science of Reading is a body of research that outlines the importance of structured literacy instruction and meeting the needs of ALL students. Special education teachers may be wondering how the Science of Reading applies to students with disabilities, and which instructional strategies would benefit them. These sessions will cover the Science of Reading and the components of structured reading instruction, while specifically addressing our population of students who may have more specific needs. We will discuss accommodations and modifications that may be needed for reading instruction.
