About me
Laurel Aguilar-Kirchhoff is an educator and consultant with 25 years of experience in science, history, and civic education. She is Kami's Senior Customer Manager, holds a Master’s Degree of Science in Education and is a certified Google Innovator. She is passionate about helping to create engaged and informed citizens through digital literacy/citizenship, media literacy, and inquiry-based learning. In 2023, Laurel was awarded the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) "20 to Watch" international award. In 2023, Laurel was also named the California Council for the Social Studies (CCSS)"Higher Education Teacher of the Year."
As an independent consultant for the California Foundation for History Education, Laurel provides social studies and science teachers professional leadership and program support. She also teaches as an adjunct professor at California State University-San Bernardino and ISTE U, where she is an instructor for courses on special educational law, school psychology, and digital citizenship. Additionally, she is a co-author of the ISTE-published book "Bring History and Civics to Life," and is an international keynote speaker. Her ISTE-published Jump Start Guide "Student Data Privacy-Made Easy" will be released in early 2024. Laurel is an active member and leader of several professional communities, including ISTE, CUE, Educators' Community, Inland Area CUE, and National History Day-California.
